Yes India has a football team, and they are doing great Nowadays, especially 2023-24 season, India has not done great in the last decades and failed to shine at the global level for many reasons, and many of them are internal problems face my Indian football governing body, AIFF.
For the past few years, India has failed in the Football World at their continent level which is not good for Indian Football, There are various reasons for not performing well at the international level.
Reasons for Failing in past years
Lack of fan support from Indian Fans
The first reason is the lack of fan support from Indian Fans. The majority of Indian football fans are supporters of European Football, they support big European giants clubs like Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United, PSG, Bayern Munich, and many more.
And if we talk about the nation’s support, all the support goes to Nations like Argentina, England, Spain, and Portugal like countries. It is not wrong to support other nations, and when your nation is not doing anything at the international level, it is good to support them also when they are participating at the international level, that encourages our players to play at their best level.
Lack of Infrastructure
Indian Football Federation have lack of infrastructure and that affect players performance, big nations have top class faculty in Football terms, there are various reason for lack of infrastructure it can be the politics or corruption, or lack of investment in football by country or third party.
But Know the slowly Indian government are investing in football and there are also various third party that work on upgrading the football infrastructure of football in India.
Poor team Quality
The process to be in National Football Team is tough as you have to fight with obstacle like politics , over-age competitors in your category and the last monopoly of the directors and top person of the table , Indian many top talent are not able to play for National Team as reasons like No support from Parents as they see no future in Football and that is True.
Football is not Treading in India past time or not today it is , Indian parents interest are more on government jobs or engineering and doctor , they prefer this more than any things, and money scandal are also part of this and we can’t forget the politics of our country.
